Hard Attack

On July 12th, the Rollergirls Of Southern Indiana took on the Slaughter Scouts from the Bleeding Heartland Rollergirls out of Bloomington,Indiana. This was an exciting bout for ROSI given their close relationship with BHRG. There were hugs, smiles and good attitudes all around.
This was definitely a bout well played by both teams. The Slaughter Scouts played a great offense while the ROSI's played and equally outstanding defense. ROSI welcomed a couple skaters back to the track after time off after injury. Needless to say they are as good as new and were just amazing. ROSI also welcomed Spynn(Scouts) back to the track, who late last year made the trip down to take part in the very first roller derby bout EVER in Evansville, ROSI's "Red vs. Blue" Exhibition Bout.
Hundreds turned out for the action packed event filled with hard competition, harder hits and yes, spills into the suicide seats. In the end the Slaughter Scouts prevailed with the final score being 62-39. Congratulations ladies!
ROSI would like to thank the all of the Bleeding Heartland Rollergirls for making the trip down and playing an amazing game. We would also like to thank all the fans who made it out to cheer us all on. You truly made it all worth while!

21 June 2008 - Rollergirls of Southern Indiana vs. Black-n-Bluegrass Rollergirls, Florence, KY

Wring around the ROSIs

The Rollergirls of Southern Indiana traveled to Florence, KY to take on the Black-N-Bluegreass Rollergirls in WRING AROUND THE ROSIs.

The score was tied at many points during the game, but the last period found ROSI down some skaters, and the Black-N-Bluegrass girls got a lead ROSI just couldn't take back.

Final Score: ROSI: 66; BNBG: 76

ROSI would like to thank the Black-N-Bluegrass girls for having us down. Can't wait to see you again next season!

14 June 2008 - Rollergirls of Southern Indiana: War of the ROSIs, Evansville

War of the ROSIs

The ROSI girls split into two teams, The Battle Betties and The Shipwreck Salles, and headed into battle in the WAR OF THE ROSIs.

This was one of the most actioned-packed and intense bouts for ROSI ever. Throughout all 3 periods it was touch and go for both teams, with the Betties and the Sallies alternately gaining the lead.

In the very last jam the Betties, in their camo-clad glory, pulled it out from a 6-point deficit to win the game with the final score : Betties: 71; Sallies: 68!

A very speical thank you to the Circle City Socialites for coming down to play as honorary ROSIs for a day!

24 May 2008 - Rollergirls of Southern Indiana vs Hard Knox Roller Girls, Evansville

AFTERSHOCK

This bout proved to be one of the most challenging bouts for ROSI to date. With three of their veteran skaters out due to injury, it was an opportunity for the newer ROSIs to get some on-the-track experience, and what an experience it was!

The ROSIs took on the Hard Knox Roller Girls mixture of A and B team players. The seasoned Hard Knox girls from Knoxville, TN beat out the Rollergirls of Southern Indiana.

Final Score: ROSI: 39, HKRG: 116

19 April 2008 - Rollergirls of Southern Indiana vs Little Rock Derby Girls, Evansville

ROSI's second bout of their inaugural 2008 pitted them up against the Bloodbath Beauties from Little Rock, Arkansas!

The Little Rock girls were all amazing players, and it was an intense game played by both sides. In the end, ROSI came out victorious with an exciting win.

FINAL SCORE: ROSI : 94, LITTLE ROCK: 42.

The bout took place at Swonder Ice Arena in Evansville, IN.

Thank you to everyone who came out for this event! A portion of the proceeds is being donated to Shriners Childrens' Hospitals. Thank you again to the visiting leagues that came and assisted! ROSI appreciates you VERY MUCH!!!

29 March 2008 - Rollergirls of Southern Indiana vs. Rollergirls of Central Kentucky, Evansville

SPRING BREAK

On Saturday, March 29, 2008, the Rollergirls of Southern Indiana will took on the Lexington, Kentucky-based Rollergirls of Central Kentucky for the first home bout of the 2008 season.The bout took place at Swonder Ice Arena at 209 N. Boeke, Evansville, IN.

The ROCK girls put up a great fight, and made ROSI work for hard for every single point!
Final Score: ROSI: 108, ROCK: 51

Ticket sales are still being calculated, but their was a great crowd of the best and most enthusiastic fans that ROSI could ask for! Thank you to all of the visiting leagues that came and helped out. We could not have done it without you guys!!

16 March 2008 - Spring Skate-A-Thon

SKATE-A-THON

On Sunday, March 16, 2008, the Rollergirls of Southern Indiana held a Skate-A-Thon at Skate World on Fairfield Drive (off Vogel between Green River and Burkhardt) skating laps. ROSI girls took pledges based on how many laps they could complete without stopping in the 2 hours. They were able to raise $487 for the Humans Society and presented VHS with a check at the intermission of their first home bout on March 29th.

2 February 2008 - Rollergirls of Southern Indiana vs. Derby City Rollergirls, Louisville

On Saturday, February 2, 2008, the Rollergirls of Southern Indiana took on the Louisville, Kentucky based Derby City Roller Girls in the first bout of both leagues' 2008 season.

The bout took place at the Kentucky/ Fair and Expo Center, the first time in Derby City's new venue!

The bout was an exciting match for the Rollergirls of Southern Indiana. DCRG were hard contenders, and in the end their experience and aggression won out. Final score: ROSI- 63, DCRG- 189

16 December 2007- Rollergirls of Southern Indiana vs. Rollergirls of Central Kentucky, Lexington

ROCK-A-BOUT

On December 16, 2007,
The Rollergirls of Southern Indiana made the trip to Lexington, Kentucky and took on the Rollergirls of Central Kentucky. It was both leagues' FIRST inter-league bout!
ROCK was very hospitable, there were some complications with the scoring, but in the end, both teams kicked major ass!
Final score: ROSI- 55, ROCK- 42

13 December 2007- Rollergirls of Southern Indiana Exhibition Bout, Evansville

Red vs. Blue

On Thursday, December 13, 2007 The Rollergirls of Southern Indiana hosted Evansville Indiana's FIRST EVER Roller Derby Bout!
The ROSI Girls divided in half and teamed up with guest roller girls from Bleeding Heartland Roller Girls, Mid-Iowa Rollers and Rollergirls of Central Kentucky.
All night the Blues and the Reds fought for points, in the end the Blues were victorious!

Final score: Blue- 56, Red- 52
